Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Fraud Unit (WCIFU)

The WCIFU was created in 1992 to investigate Workers’ Compensation (WC) Fraud. It then expanded to include Insurance Fraud in 1999. The unit has investigated and prosecuted well over 1,000 individuals and recovered, ordered restitution, and financially impacted a savings of several millions of dollars during the time of its existence.

The Unit endeavors to keep all participating individuals and entities in the workers’ compensation and insurance business models accountable. This includes claimants, businesses, medical providers, insurance companies and legal representatives.

The Unit personnel include Prosecutors, Agents, Investigative Analyst and Legal Assistant.
