Attorney General’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Workshops Start Tuesday in Duncan
OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Scott Pruitt and workers’ compensation fraud chief Vince Antonioli kick off the 2013 AG’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Workshops Tuesday in Duncan.
The workshops are a yearlong effort by the Attorney General’s Office to educate businesses on the signs of workers’ compensation fraud, how to avoid fraud and what evidence to collect to help the AG’s Office prosecute workers’ compensation fraud statewide.
“No fraud is too small,” General Pruitt said. “Individuals who try to take advantage of the system must be held accountable, and we want to make sure businesses are aware of how to avoid fraud and to report it.”
The AG’s Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Fraud Unit is the only Oklahoma law enforcement agency dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of workers’ compensation fraud.
Since Pruitt took office in January 2011, the number of workers’ comp fraud cases handled by the office has risen 62 percent.
