OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) today announced an online campaign to raise awareness about elder abuse.

Led by OKDHS, the agency has developed online resources and a toolkit for individuals to recognize the signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation. The agency is also calling attention to its new online portal AbuseIsNotOK.org for public reporting of these crimes.

OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General Mike Hunter today released the following statement on President Donald Trump's nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Judge Amy Coney Barrett will be an outstanding addition to the U.S. Supreme Court. Her experience speaks for itself, as she has clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia, written nearly 100 opinions, is a highly respected law professor at Notre Dame and has served on the Seventh Circuit with distinction. I applaud this nomination and look forward to her confirmation without delay."

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today commended a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge John Dowdell for siding with the state in a lawsuit brought by two Democratic Party groups challenging the state’s voting laws.

The lawsuit was filed by the Oklahoma Democratic Party and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. It complained about several absentee voting procedures, claiming they severely burden Oklahomans’ voting rights during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today amended drug distribution conspiracy charges to add six counts of first-degree murder on three individuals in connection with a fentanyl distribution operation that claimed at least two lives.

The additional charges come as the medical examiner determined the two victim deaths were caused by fentanyl overdoses.

 Brief: Regulation amounts to a physical taking of private property

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the justices to review a lower court’s decision regarding a California labor regulation that allows union organizers to enter the private property of agricultural producers for up to three hours a day, 120 days a year.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter has responded to two Democratic Party groups challenging the state’s voting laws, telling a federal judge the proposed changes would lead to electoral disruption and facilitate voter fraud.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today sent a letter to congressional leadership, urging both chambers to amend the 1984 Victims of Crime Act to include senior citizens victimized by fraud as eligible for reimbursement by the Crime Victims Fund.

Reimbursements distributed from the Crime Victims Fund are typically reserved for victims of violent crime, not financial or white-collar crimes.
