The Oklahoma Office of Attorney General is currently seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Chief, Assistant Attorney General for the Utility Regulation Unit.

Job Summary: The Office of Attorney General’s Utility Regulation Unit represents and protects the interests of the state’s utility customers in administrative and civil proceedings affecting utility rates, charges, and terms and conditions of service. The Chief, Assistant Attorney General organizes, directs, and supervises the Utility Regulation Unit and its team of three to six members, including attorneys, analysts, and support staff. The Chief, Assistant Attorney General will advocate for utility customers in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with some practice before state courts and federal administrative agencies. Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to, researching, evaluating, and presenting complex financial and legal information at trial and through briefing, including interfacing with non-attorney experts.

Qualifications: A qualified candidate must be a licensed attorney with a minimum of four years’ experience in the practice of law with an emphasis on litigation and/or administrative hearings, including discovery, hearings, and preparing written legal briefs. Preference will be given to candidates with a prior background in economics, accounting, and/or finance. Some travel is required. A writing sample must accompany a resume to be considered.
