“Tim Downing has served in many leadership positions for the citizens of Oklahoma. He is a man of the highest integrity and competence,” said Attorney General O’Connor. “He is an invaluable partner, and his talents, wisdom, leadership, and compassion will be sorely missed in our office. I have appreciated the opportunity to work closely with him, and I wish him every success moving forward.”
Tim previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. He served as Counsel to the Oklahoma Secretary of State and as assistant majority floor leader, assistant majority whip, and vice-chair of the Judiciary Committee in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He is also currently a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve.
Tim will be sworn in as a Judge on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals on June 14, 2022. Deputy First Assistant Attorney General Lori Carter will serve as Acting First Assistant Attorney General during the search for Mr. Downing’s replacement.
